Homeowners do not hire the best builder. They hire the one they trust first.

Remodeling runs on referrals that arrive in waves, homeowners who plan for months, and three bids sitting side by side on a table. Remodeling marketing is what turns that into additions, whole-home renovations, and signed contracts every month.

We build the remodeling lead generation engine, run it, and sign it over. No shared inquiries four other remodelers already paid for, no starting from zero if you ever walk. The asset stays in your name and keeps working.

Founder, Contractor Fast Lane

In 2015 I started Four28 Marketing with one goal: give local businesses an unfair advantage in their market.

Eleven years and 250+ businesses later, one pattern kept jumping out. Home services was the one place I could run the same playbook and watch it actually work. Not a slide in a quarterly review, real jobs on a real calendar. I’d rather move the needle for a small business than a Fortune 500 any day.

So we took everything we had built over a decade and pointed all of it at one thing.

Why remodeling companies stay stuck

Your work sells itself. Why doesn’t the pipeline?

None of this is a craftsmanship problem. It is what a four-month sales cycle does to a business run on referrals.

The referral rollercoaster

Word of mouth caps out and arrives in waves. One quarter you are turning projects away, the next the phone is quiet and you are sweating how to keep your best crews busy.

Tire-kickers who want the cheapest bid

Shared lead sites resell the same homeowner to five remodelers, and most are price shoppers collecting three bids. You burn evenings on consultations that were never going to sign.

Five-star work nobody ever sees

Homeowners plan remodels on their phones for months before they contact anyone. If your portfolio and reviews are not what they find at the planning stage, the remodeler they do find gets the call.

A long sales cycle punishes every gap

A remodel takes weeks or months from inquiry to contract, and homeowners go quiet while they decide. Without relentless follow-up, a pipeline gap today becomes a revenue hole next quarter.

The remodeling owner we build this for

Built for remodelers who want a steady backlog.

Contractor Fast Lane is built for established remodeling companies doing roughly $500K to $10M and up per year that have outgrown referrals and word of mouth. If you already have the crews, the craftsmanship, and the reputation, we build the remodeling marketing engine that keeps your backlog full, and lock your market so a competitor cannot buy the same system.

Real reviews

What the owners actually say.

The same engine has scaled 250+ local service businesses across 25 industries, and remodeling is a trade we know cold. Every review below is a real owner. See the full case studies on our results page.

“I've worked with plenty of agencies that promise the world and deliver a folder full of vanity metrics. Contractor Fast Lane is different. They feel like an extension of our team and take the time to understand our industry instead of forcing a one-size-fits-all template. Since partnering with them we have seen a significant increase in qualified leads and a real boost in ROI, and our cost per acquisition has dropped.”

I was with a different company for TWELVE years whom I trusted, only to find out he had not been performing yet was charging us anyway. My husband and I run a local business, and when it came time to grow we knew we needed experts. Contractor Fast Lane came highly recommended from a friend who raved about them. They are crazy good at taking complicated, nerdy stuff and making it make sense, and they were always communicating so I never once wondered what was going on. Their SEO work for our market has been a game changer, and we have seen a tangible increase in our lead volume.

It was clear they had done extensive research on our industry before we ever sat down. We spoke to other agencies, but there was a distinct difference. What really stood out was their proven track record getting clients top rankings on Google. We needed a site built the right way, optimized and built to convert, and that is exactly what they delivered. Honestly, it has been one of the best investments we have made for our business.

The remodeling lead trap

Stop renting remodeling leads.
Own the system that makes them.

Buying home remodeling leads is renting. The day you stop paying, it all disappears and you start from zero. Owning your remodeling lead generation is an asset that compounds and stays yours.

Renting leads

Pay forever. Own nothing.

Every project costs the same or more to win than the last. Stop paying and the inquiries vanish overnight.

Owning the engine

Build once. Compound for years.

Your cost per signed project falls as the asset grows, and the website itself is fully yours at month 6.

What it costs to buy a remodeling lead right now

Published figures for what remodelers pay to get one homeowner to raise a hand. Your market will move these numbers, but the shape holds everywhere: big-ticket work costs real money to source, and the price of sourcing it does not fall while you are renting.

Google search ads$166Median cost per lead for the Construction & Contractors category, well above the $91 average across all 16 home services categories measured (LocaliQ, 3,211 US campaigns).
Cost per click$7.85Average home services search click, converting at 7.33%. Both numbers move against you as more remodelers bid into the same zip codes.
Local Services Ads$35 to $15610th to 90th percentile for a charged general contractor lead, pulled from live Google Ads billing data in July 2026. The median sat near $65.
Pay-per-lead vendorsAbout $120Published national average per remodeling lead, with Florida nearer $90 and Miami at $78. Market density moves this more than anything else you can control.
Cost per signed contract$660 to $1,325Not a published benchmark, just arithmetic off the $166 figure above. Close one lead in four and a signed contract runs about $660. One in eight and it is about $1,325. Budget against this number, not cost per lead.
Here is what those figures leave out. Every one of them is a rental price, and rental prices only move one direction as more remodelers bid into the same neighborhoods. The engine we build points the same spend at things that accumulate instead: ranked pages, a review wall, a portfolio that keeps selling after the dumpster is gone, and follow-up that does not forget the homeowner who went quiet for a quarter. And the website itself is fully yours at month 6.

Sources: search cost per lead, cost per click and conversion rate from LocaliQ’s home services search benchmarks (3,211 US campaigns, April 2024 to March 2025, where Construction & Contractors general sits at $165.67 against a $90.92 all-category average). Local Services Ads range from 99 Calls’ general contractor LSA cost data, drawn from live Google Ads billing and refreshed daily, so the figure on that page will drift from ours. Pay-per-lead figures from Service Direct’s published remodeling cost per lead (national, first half of 2023). Renovation budget and planning-cycle figures from the 2024 and 2025 Houzz & Home studies. Cost per signed contract is arithmetic off the search figure, not a survey. Last reviewed July 2026.

Where remodeling projects are actually won

Remodeling is a months-long decision. Your marketing has to last that long.

A homeowner researches for two quarters, collects three bids, and decides on trust as much as price. These six pieces exist because of that, and they look nothing like what works for a same-day service call.

1Present for the whole decision

Homeowners plan roughly twice as long as they build. So the engine keeps showing up across the entire stretch, from the first idea search to the week they finally choose, instead of one touch and silence.

2Trusted before the bid lands

Three proposals on a table look interchangeable, so price wins by default. We put your finished work, reviews, and process in front of them before your number does. You stop being a column in a spreadsheet.

3A payment path, not just a price

Most renovating homeowners pay from savings, which caps what they can say yes to. Surfacing financing early, on the site and in follow-up, turns a maybe-next-year into a scope they can sign this quarter.

4Qualified before you drive out

An unqualified whole-home walk-through costs half a day plus an evening on a proposal nobody signs. Intake asks scope, timeline, and budget up front, so the appointments on your calendar earn the drive.

5Proof at the scope they are buying

A homeowner planning a $200K addition is not persuaded by a single-room refresh. The portfolio is built so people find finished work at their scope, on their street. That is what makes your estimate feel safe.

6An asset, not a subscription

Your data, reviews, content, and customer relationships are yours from day one, and the website itself is fully yours at month 6. Ad accounts and Google Business Profile open in your name, not ours.

Our best-fit remodeler

You run real project teams and want predictable, owned growth.

Kitchen & bath remodelsThe steady core: $25K to $100K projects homeowners search for every day.

Design-build & whole-homeSix-figure renovations for firms that run projects from concept to completion.

Additions & major projectsRoom additions, ADUs, and structural work that fill the schedule for months.

One remodeler per marketWe work with a single remodeling company per service area. Yours locks when you start.

The long game

Your remodeling engine gets stronger every month it runs.

Every project you finish is proof for the next three. Photos, a review, a street where the neighbors watched it happen. The engine keeps all of it working for you, so the year you are selling in is always built on the years behind it.

Launch Year 1 Year 3
The groundwork we lay here…
…is why it picks up steam here.
Illustrative shape, not a projection.

Anyone can buy a spike of estimate requests. The remodelers homeowners name unprompted spent years building something they own.

Early onWe build the engine and switch it on. You feel some of it right away. Most of it is foundation you will feel later.
As it maturesEvery month stacks on the last. Your rankings, reviews and repeat customers start feeding each other instead of resetting.
The long runGrowth that took real work to build is not easily taken away. Rented demand disappears the month you stop paying for it.
Daniel Segalo, founder of Contractor Fast Lane
A note from the founder

Why we built this.

“I kept watching the same thing happen: a remodeler doing five-star work, running circles around the shop down the street, and still losing to them. Not because the other guy was better. Because he had a system bringing him customers, and they didn't.

So we built the system. Then we packaged the whole thing, done for you, for local service businesses ready to scale. We keep your calendar full, you run the jobs, and it is all in your name, right down to the website becoming yours at month 6.

No contracts, no lock-ins. We earn it every month. And we only take one company per market, so if yours is still open, I'd love to meet you.”

Remodeling marketing FAQs

Straight answers on cost and ownership.

How much do remodeling leads cost?
About $166 a lead through paid search, the Construction and Contractors figure in LocaliQ’s benchmark study, against a $91 all-trades average. Pay-per-lead vendors publish a national remodeling average near $120. Cost per lead is still the wrong number. Divide total spend by signed contracts, not by inquiries.
How much should a remodeling company spend on marketing?
Most established remodelers land between 5% and 10% of revenue, and go higher in a deliberate growth year. At $3M that is $150K to $300K. Remodeling carries the top of that range because the tickets are big: Houzz put the top tenth of 2023 renovation budgets at $150,000. What matters is what the money buys. Rented leads reset to zero the month you stop.
How do I get more remodeling jobs without buying shared leads?
Be the remodeler homeowners find on their own, while they are still deciding. Four things do that: ranking for the project searches run in your towns, a portfolio sorted by scope so they can find work like theirs, enough recent reviews to make you the safe call, and follow-up that lands in minutes instead of the next evening.
Why do I keep losing projects to the lowest of three bids?
Because three proposals on a table look interchangeable, so price is the only difference a homeowner can see. Get trusted before your number lands: finished work at their scope, reviews, a written process, a payment path. Houzz found 84% of renovating homeowners paid from savings. Plenty of cheap bids win because the buyer is capped, not cheap.
How do I get fewer tire-kickers and more qualified remodeling leads?
Qualify before anyone drives out. An unqualified whole-home walk-through burns half a day, plus design time, plus an evening writing a proposal nobody was going to sign. So intake asks scope, timeline and budget range up front, and the calendar only opens to people who answer. One signed project can outweigh thirty inquiries.
Homeowners plan for months before they hire. How does that change the marketing?
Marketing has to hold someone for quarters, not days. Houzz found homeowners plan about twice as long as they build, with living rooms averaging 8.1 months of planning to 4.1 of construction. So the system stays present and keeps touching whoever went quiet in March. You lose those to follow-up, not a competitor.
Do you work with design-build firms and contractors doing additions and whole-home renovations?
Yes, that is the center of it. The engine is tuned for big-scope residential work: additions, ADUs, basement and attic build-outs, multi-room renovations, and design-build from drawings to punch list. Single-room jobs fit and often start the relationship. It is not built for commercial or multifamily work sold to developers.
How is this different from a remodeling marketing agency, and what do I actually own?
An agency rents you services and keeps the accounts, so the day you leave you start from nothing. This is a growth system you buy. Your data, reviews, content and customer relationships are yours from day one, and the website itself becomes fully yours at month 6. See how ownership works →
